The ‘B-HEX Pupil Expander’ (6.50 mm) & ‘B-HEX Pupil Expander 2.0’ (6.75 mm) are US FDA Regd. & patented products from Med Invent Devices Pvt. Ltd. These are sterile single use flexible hexagonal plastic devices with notches and flanges disposed in a single plane. Alternate flanges are tucked under the iris to engage the notches to the pupil margin and provide an expanded pupil. The B-HEX 2.0 is little larger and stiffer. Each device is preloaded in a transparent carrier with an ergonomic handle which delivers the device sterile at the incision. Each unit is placed individually in a sterile pack.
The device is inserted, engaged to the pupil margin, and removed using a ‘B-HEX 23 G forceps’.
